Redbirds Sports Cafe & Billiards offers a selection of 14 different pool tables, a wide assortment of pool cue sticks, and a great atmosphere.
Play a few games of 8-ball, 9-ball, or any other billiards game while watching the big game on one of our large screen televisions. We currently feature our Redbirds 55" Plasma as well as two 65" TV's, one 61" TV, one 50" TV and misc small TV's throughout the establishment. Standard pool rates are $8.80 an hour with a minimum of one hour of play.

Texas Express 9-Ball Rules:

  • Cue ball fouls only, except when an object ball has been knocked off the table. The object ball is not spotted, and the opponent has ball in hand anywhere on the table.

  • One push out, only after the break.

  • If your opponent scratches on the break, it is ball in hand anywhere on the table.

  • Any ball off the table is ball in hand anywhere on the table.

  • Three fouls in a row by the same player results in loss of game.

  • There are no object ball fouls. If you move or touch an object ball or balls, your opponent has the option to leave them where they are, or put them back where they were.

  • Remain seated and quiet when your opponent is at the table. Do not break down your cue when your opponent is at the table.

  • Lag or flip for break. Scratch on the lag is loss of the lag.

  • Winner breaks.

  • Player must hit the one ball on the break to start the game.
A legal break occurs when the one ball is struck first, and at least 5 balls are driven to a rail. If this does not occur, you must re-rack and break again.

  • Remember, when you lose a match, the tournament director may require you to mark a score sheet for the next match.

  • If an object ball or the cue ball should stop at the edge of a pocket, and you get up to take your turn and that ball falls in the pocket, that ball is then put back near the edge of the pocket. You may now take your turn at the table.

  • With Texas Express Rules, all object balls stay down except the nine ball!

  • Shoot all nine balls! Never give up the game with balls remaining.

Missouri 8-Ball Rules:

  • Aim of the game The game is played with a cue ball (the white ball) and fifteen object balls, numbered 1 through 15: 1-7 (solid colors), 9-15 (stripes) and 8-ball (black). One player must pocket balls of solid colors, while the other player the striped ones. The player pocketing his group first and then legally pocketing the 8-ball wins the game.
  • Opening break The balls are racked in a triangle with the 8-ball in the center of the triangle, the first ball of the rack on the foot spot, a stripe ball in one corner of the rack and a solid ball in the other corner. The game begins with the cue ball in hand behind the head string. Any ball can be hit first by the cue ball The break is legal when neither the cue ball nor the 8-ball is pocketed, and either one of the numbered balls is pocketed or four of them is driven to the rail.
  • Choice of group If no numbered ball is pocketed by the opening break then the table remains open and the opposing player is next. Open table means that the group of balls a player has to pocket is not decided yet. It is legal to hit any solid or stripe or 8-ball first while the table is open. The choice of group is determined when a player legally pockets a solid or stripe ball at open table. He selects his group by the one he pockets. After the groups are assigned on all shots the shooter must hit a ball of his group first and pocket any ball(s) of his groups.
  • Play & Win A player is entitled to continue shooting until he fails to legally pocket a ball of his group. It is no foul if he fails but then the opposing player is next. A player has to complete one shot in 60 seconds, otherwise a foul is called, and incoming player gets cue ball in hand. When all balls of a player's group are pocketed then the 8-ball has to be pocketed in any pocket.
  • Fouls The cue ball does not hit a ball of the player's group first. The cue ball is pocketed. None of the balls is driven to the rail. The shot is not completed in 60 seconds. If a shot is foul the opposing player gets the cue ball in hand. This means that the player can place the cue ball anywhere on the table (does not have to be behind the head string).
  • Losing the game A player loses when he pockets the 8-ball and not all of the balls of his group are pocketed. the hit is a foul.
